Business Process Workflow: Influencer & Partner Attribution Guide

This document outlines the complete operational lifecycle for configuring branded tracking domains, registering products, onboarding influencers, issuing campaign links, tracking leads/clicks, and automating commission calculations in ebosAi AMP (Affiliate Management Platform).

Example Scenario Reference

Throughout this guide, we use the following production scenario: - Tenant / Company: ebosAi SaaS - Custom Tracking Domain: https://marketing.ebosai.com - Product to Track: MicroERP - Product Landing & Signup URL: https://merp.ebosai.com - Partner / Influencer: pmebos@gmail.com (Social handle: @pmebos) - Default Landing URL (if not trackable): https://shop.ebosai.com (ebosAi Marketplace) - Objective: Issue a tracked link to pmebos@gmail.com, monitor visits/clicks (leads), and automatically track and book commissions when visitors purchase a MicroERP subscription.

1. End-to-End Operational Lifecycle

[Step 1: Domain Setup] ──> Verify DNS for https://marketing.ebosai.com (One-time only)
         │
[Step 2: Product Setup] ──> Register "MicroERP" with Pricing & Commission Rules
         │
[Step 3: Partner Master]──> Add "pmebos@gmail.com" to Partners Registry
         │
[Step 4: Link Creation] ──> Select Target Platform & generate link pointing to https://merp.ebosai.com
         │
[Step 5: Partner Share] ──> Send tracking link to influencer via Email or Partner Portal
         │
[Step 6: Click Tracking]──> Visitor clicks link -> AMP logs click, drops signed token & passes ?ref= -> redirects
         │
[Step 7: Conversion Tag]──> 1-line script on signup success page captures conversion and triggers automated commission

2. Step-by-Step Workflow Guide

Step 1: Set Up Custom Tracking Domain (One-Time Setup)

Navigation: Admin Portal $\rightarrow$ Settings $\rightarrow$ Custom Tracking Domain (/admin/settings/domain)

  1. Custom Tracking Subdomain: Enter marketing.ebosai.com.
  2. Landing URL if not trackable: Auto-filled with https://shop.ebosai.com (editable if you wish to enter another destination).
  3. Click Save Domain.
  4. In your DNS provider (Cloudflare, AWS Route53, GoDaddy, Namecheap, etc.), create two records:
  5. CNAME Record: marketing.ebosai.com $\rightarrow$ Points to cname.amp.ebosai.com
  6. TXT Record: _amp-verify.marketing.ebosai.com $\rightarrow$ Value: amp-verify=<VERIFICATION_TOKEN>
  7. Click Verify DNS Status. When the badge turns Active & Verified (green), your custom domain is active.

Clarifications & FAQ:

  • Is this a one-time setup? YES, 100% one-time only. You configure the DNS subdomain marketing.ebosai.com once per company/tenant. All existing and future products, campaigns, and partner links will automatically use https://marketing.ebosai.com/ref/... forever.
  • Why is it labeled "Landing URL if not trackable"? If a customer types the bare domain into their address bar (https://marketing.ebosai.com) with no slug, or if an old/deleted link is visited, AMP gracefully redirects them to https://shop.ebosai.com (your marketplace) instead of showing a dead 404 error page.

Step 2: Register the Target Product (MicroERP)

Navigation: Admin Portal $\rightarrow$ Products (/admin/products)

  1. Click + Add Product.
  2. Enter the product parameters:
  3. Product Name: MicroERP
  4. Plan Type / Tier: Select plan tier (e.g., Professional or Enterprise)
  5. Price & Currency: e.g., 49.00 USD
  6. Commission Rule:
    • Choose Percentage (e.g., 15.0% = \$7.35 per sale) or Flat Fee (e.g., $10.00 per sale).
    • Optional: Set holding period (default: 30 days to protect against chargebacks/refunds).
  7. Click Create Product.

Step 3: Register the Partner / Influencer Master Data

Navigation: Admin Portal $\rightarrow$ Partners (/admin/partners)

  1. Click + Add Partner.
  2. Enter partner profile details:
  3. Name: PM ebos (or display name)
  4. Email: pmebos@gmail.com
  5. Primary Platform (Optional): Select primary channel (e.g., YouTube, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter / X, or General / Not Specified)
  6. Platform Handle: @pmebos
  7. Follower Count: (Optional) e.g., 50000
  8. Click Register Partner.

Clarifications & FAQ:

  • Why is "Primary Platform" optional? Influencers often create content across multiple networks. You do not need to restrict a partner to a single channel at registration time.
  • If I want to track multiple platforms (YouTube, Instagram, LinkedIn), do I create multiple partner records? NO. You maintain one single partner record for pmebos@gmail.com. A single partner can hold unlimited tracking links! In Step 4, you generate distinct platform-specific links for YouTube, Instagram, etc. All clicks, leads, and commissions roll up under the single partner pmebos@gmail.com in the financial ledger.

Navigation: Admin Portal $\rightarrow$ Partners $\rightarrow$ Click on pmebos@gmail.com $\rightarrow$ Under Tracking Links, click + Generate Link

  1. In the modal dialog, configure the campaign link:
  2. Target Product: Select MicroERP (associates the link with MicroERP's pricing and commission rules).
  3. Target Platform: Select YouTube, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc. Selecting a platform automatically sets appropriate utm_source and utm_medium parameters.
  4. Destination URL (Landing Page) [Required]: Enter https://merp.ebosai.com (the exact product landing, pricing, or signup page where visitors should arrive).
  5. Custom Slug (Optional): merp-pmebos-yt (for YouTube) or merp-pmebos-ig (for Instagram).
  6. UTM Campaign: e.g., microerp-q1.
  7. Review the live preview:
    https://marketing.ebosai.com/ref/merp-pmebos-yt?utm_source=youtube&utm_medium=video&utm_campaign=microerp-q1

  8. Click Generate Link.

Clarifications & FAQ:

  • Difference between "Landing URL if not trackable" (Step 1) and "Destination URL" (Step 4):
  • Step 1 ("Landing URL if not trackable"): Global safety net (https://shop.ebosai.com) if someone types the bare tracking domain or accesses an invalid link.
  • Step 4 ("Destination URL"): The mandatory destination for this campaign link (https://merp.ebosai.com). Every link must have a target destination URL so clicks and leads can be forwarded and tracked accurately.

You have two sharing mechanisms:

Option A: Direct Distribution

  1. In the partner panel under Tracking Links, click the Copy icon next to the generated link.
  2. Email or message the link directly to pmebos@gmail.com alongside your marketing copy and assets (from Marketing Assets or AI Creative Studio).

Option B: Partner Self-Service Portal

  1. Direct the influencer to https://amp.ebosai.com/partners/login.
  2. The influencer enters pmebos@gmail.com and receives an instant 6-digit OTP verification code.
  3. Upon entering the portal, the influencer can:
  4. Copy their assigned tracking links for all channels.
  5. Download marketing banners and copy provided by the admin.
  6. View real-time analytics: total clicks, signups, pending commissions, and approved payouts.

Step 6: Tracking Mechanism (Clicks & Conversions)

  1. A prospect clicks https://marketing.ebosai.com/ref/merp-pmebos-yt.
  2. Asynchronous Click Logging: AMP records the click in PostgreSQL/Redis via Celery (capturing timestamp, IP address, user-agent, and UTM parameters) without slowing down the visitor.
  3. Dual-Channel Attribution Handoff:
  4. AMP drops a secure 30-day cookie (amp_ref) containing a cryptographically signed HMAC-SHA256 token encoding {link_id, tenant_id, slug}.
  5. AMP appends the attribution token directly to the destination redirect URL: https://merp.ebosai.com?ref=<ATTRIBUTION_TOKEN>.
  6. The visitor lands smoothly on https://merp.ebosai.com.

Cross-Domain Tracking: Tracking Partner Products on Different Domains

What happens if the tracked product is on a completely different domain?
(e.g. tracking link is https://marketing.ebosai.com, but the product is https://partnerstore.com or https://thirdpartysaas.io).

Modern browsers enforce the Same-Origin Policy, meaning cookies set on marketing.ebosai.com cannot be read directly by an unrelated domain like partnerstore.com.

How ebosAi AMP solves this seamlessly: 1. URL Parameter Pass-Through (?ref=...): When AMP redirects the visitor, it appends ?ref=<ATTRIBUTION_TOKEN> to the destination URL. 2. Destination Local Storage & First-Party Persistence: The lightweight track.js script running on partnerstore.com immediately reads ?ref=... from the landing URL and caches it in partnerstore.com's own local storage (localStorage.setItem('amp_ref', token)) and first-party domain cookie. 3. Multi-Page Browsing Preservation: Even if the visitor navigates across multiple pages on partnerstore.com before eventually checking out, track.js retrieves the cached attribution token upon purchase. 4. Result: 100% attribution accuracy across 100% independent third-party domains, completely immune to third-party cookie restrictions (Safari ITP, Chrome Privacy Sandbox, Brave Shields).

Phase B: Conversion Tracking & Automated Commission (The Core USP)

The ebosAi AMP USP: Zero-secret, one-line code integration. No complex server-side APIs, webhooks, or secret keys needed on your product app.

On the https://merp.ebosai.com post-checkout or signup success page (e.g. /thank-you or /dashboard/welcome), add this single line of code before </body>:

<script
  src="https://marketing.ebosai.com/ref/track.js"
  data-tenant="<YOUR_TENANT_ID>"
  data-customer-id="<PURCHASER_USER_ID>"
  data-amount="49.00"
  data-currency="USD"
  data-plan="professional"
  data-product-id="<MICROERP_PRODUCT_ID>">
</script>

Or execute via JavaScript in single-page apps (React, Next.js, Vue, Angular):

window.ebosai.convert({
  tenantId: "<YOUR_TENANT_ID>",
  customerId: user.id,
  amount: 49.00,
  currency: "USD",
  plan: "professional",
  productId: "<MICROERP_PRODUCT_ID>"
});

What Happens Automatically in the Background:

  1. track.js transmits a lightweight conversion beacon to /ref/conversion.
  2. AMP extracts the attribution token (from local storage, cookie, or URL) and matches it to pmebos@gmail.com.
  3. The Commission Engine evaluates the product rules:
  4. Calculates 15% of \$49.00 = \$7.35.
  5. Places the commission in Pending status with a 30-day anti-refund holding period.
  6. Logs the conversion in the ledger and updates real-time analytics.
  7. Zero manual reconciliation required!

Step 7: Monitoring & Admin Analytics

  1. Click & Lead Counts:
  2. Navigate to Partners $\rightarrow$ select pmebos@gmail.com $\rightarrow$ inspect the real-time click and conversion counter on each link.
  3. Full Funnel Metrics:
  4. Navigate to Dashboard (/admin/dashboard) to view the Attribution Funnel: $$\text{Total Clicks} \longrightarrow \text{Signups (Trials)} \longrightarrow \text{Paid Conversions}$$
  5. Commission Pipeline:
  6. Navigate to Commissions (/admin/commissions) to view pending commission notes, approve verified sales, and schedule payouts.
