Admin Manual 07: Approvals Setup & Rules (/approvals)

The Approvals Setup governs workflow interception rules that hold high-value operational documents for managerial review before financial GL or inventory posting occurs.

🎯 Rule Architecture & Configuration

1. Document Scope

Rules can be defined for 4 core document types: - Purchase Order (PurchaseOrder): Intercepts procurement orders before sending to suppliers. - Supplier Bill (VendorBill): Intercepts vendor invoices before posting to Accounts Payable. - Expense Claim (Expense): Intercepts employee expense reimbursement claims. - Journal Entry (JournalEntry): Intercepts manual GL journal entries.

2. Threshold Conditions & Parameters

  • Financial Limit: Set numeric threshold in functional currency (e.g. Amount > 10,000 AED).
  • Required Approver Role: Specify authorized role required for sign-off (Manager or Admin).
  • Rule Status: Active or Disabled.

3. Non-Circumvention Rule

  • The workflow engine enforces strict separation of duties: Submitters cannot approve their own high-value documents.
